Buhari returns to Nigeria after 10 days vacation in London, notifies National Assembly of his resumption.
President Buhari arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital a few minutes ago, a tweet by Bashir Ahmed, the Personal Assistant on New Media to the President revealed.
“President @MBuhari returns to Abuja from the UK, after a 10 working day vacation”.
President Buhari had on August 3 commenced another round of vacation from Friday during which he remained in London, United Kingdom, throughout.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, had in a statement on August 1 said President Buhari would be away for 10 working days.
Adesina said Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo would be the Acting President during the period.

Meanwhile, the President has sent a letter to the National Assembly, informing the lawmakers of his resumption as President upon the completion of his 10-working-day leave.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday.
Buhari wrote the letter titled “Resumption of Office” shortly after he returned to Nigeria from London, the United Kingdom where he remained throughout the vacation period.
The President’s letter to the National Assembly read, “In compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), I write to intimate the Senate and the House of Representatives that I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from today, Saturday 18th August, 2018,after my vacation.
“Please accept, Distinguished Senate President, Hon.Speaker, House of Representatives, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
