Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 22nd AUG, 2018) - Multiply! (2)
“And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.” Genesis 1:22
Deuteronomy 30:16 says,
In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
Before God would multiply that which is in your hands, you must know what to do.
When God's abundance gets on your life, no amount of lack would make you feel the supply; that is, no amount of lack would make you feel lack. When one walks in God's abundance, he always has
more than enough. The provision of men would never be sufficient; but that of God would always make full.
Yesterday, we saw that God is actively involved in the business of multiplication. His mentality and outlook are always centered on multiplication.
We also saw that God does not give abundance by making manna fall from heaven (that is, supernaturally); rather, He multiplies the works of your hands, such that, through it, the abundance would come. God's notion of multiplication is a covenant.
Genesis 17:4 says,
As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
Verse 7 goes further to say,
And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. This was the covenant God made to Abraham.
You see, this covenant wasn't for Abraham alone, but for His offspring as well; his seeds. Amazingly, we are the seeds of Abraham through Christ; therefore, the covenant of abundance God made to
Abraham holds for us as well. Glory!!!!
Covenants are established to enforce peace. To every covenant, there would always be an opposing force. In the covenant of multiplication, there are forces that would arise in order to oppose it. This is why you cannot let your guard down.
Ephesians 6:17 says,
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of GodThe Word of God is the only weapon with which you can overcome these forces. It is your only attacking weapon.
DECLARATION
My sufficiency is of God. I key into the covenant of abundance. I experience the miracle of multiplication.
