Why Police arrest, detain the sacked DSS DG Lawan Daura

A combined team of the Nigerian Police and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) have arrested Lawan Daura, the sacked Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), for “breaching national security”.

It was gathered that Daura was arrested immediately he was sacked by the Acting President Yemi Osinabjo.

According to reports, news of the arrest sparked wild jubilation at the DSS headquarters.
