My credentials are still with the Military, Buhari informs INEC
President Muhammadu Buhari has told the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that his credentials are still with the Nigerian military.

INEC has said that more than 70 political parties in the country have presented their candidates for the 2019 presidential poll.
In addition to the publication of the names of candidates for the presidential elections by the various parties, INEC on Thursday said that the candidates had submitted their credentials.

However, the President, as he did in 2015, did not attach the needed documents to his form, saying that they are still with the military.

“I am the above-named person and the deponent of this affidavit herein,” Buhari said in an affidavit he swore to that effect.

“All my academic qualification documents as filled in my Presidential form, APC/ 001 / 2015 are currently with the Secretary of the Military Board as of the time of this affidavit.”

But his major opponent, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) submitted all documents to the INEC.

Atiku has a Diploma in Law in 1969 from the Ahmadu Bello University as his highest qualification.
