N2.2bn fraud: Fayose arrives Lagos High Court

All appear to be set for the arraignment of the immediate-past Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Fayose is facing trial for an alleged fraud of N2.2bn., which he has denied.

The anti-graft agency conveyed the ex-governor to the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, in a white bus manned by heavy security on Monday morning.

The court is expected to sit at 9am.

The EFCC had filed corruption charges against Fayose, accusing him of collecting billions of naira from former National Security Adviser Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.) in 2014.

The money was meant for the purchase of arms to tackle terror group Boko Haram.
