'Fayose will remain detained, he has lot of issues to clarify' - EFCC
Fayose accompanied by Gov. Wike, Fani-Kayode and his lawyer Mike Ozekhome(SAN) arrived at the EFCC office in Wuse 2, Abuja in a customized blue Tee-Shirt with the inscription “EFCC I’m here”.
Ex- Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose has denied all the allegations and asked the EFCC to take him to court, instead.

According to source, Fayose wouldn't respond to issues raised by three teams of investigators.

“He made a statement where he denied all the allegations and asked the commission to take him to court.

“So far, he has not responded to how he came about N1.3billion and $5.377million from ONSA. He has more issues to clarify; we are going to detain him.”

“There are three teams handling the allegations against the former governor. There is a special team managing his suspended trial because he had immunity as a governor; a separate team for the N4.685b ONSA fraud and the third panel probes his just completed tenure.

“Definitely, we are going to detain Fayose because he has a lot of issues to clarify.”

The agency’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren said “The ex-governor is still undergoing interrogation as at last night.”

Meanwhile, the Punch report on Tuesday had it that a mild drama ensued outside the Tunde Idiagbon House, former head office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission when operatives of the EFCC attempted to bar a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani - Kayode, from accompanying former Governor Ayodele Fayose into the premises.

Fani-Kayode, who obtained an LL. B from the School of Oriental and African Studies and a Masters degree from Cambridge University, noted that he was a lawyer and had practised in Nigeria .

After challenging the security officials with his credentials, he was allowed in.

While going in, Fani-Kayode joked with the EFCC operatives that he ought to be allowed unto the premises at any time having spent 90 non-consecutive days in the custody of the commission in 2016.

“ I am a regular customer here. You should know me by now, ” he joked .

Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), who has been representing Fayose in court since his recent case with the EFCC began, also took three lawyers from his chambers into the EFCC before leaving.
