Salah back to Liverpool after muscle injury while on Egypt duty
Mohamed Salah is to return to Liverpool after he suffered a muscle injury while playing for Egypt on Friday night.
The 26-year-old was forced off in the closing stages of Egypt’s 4-1 victory over Swaziland in their African Nations Cup qualifier in Cairo, having scored directly from a corner earlier in the game.
Salah was due to travel to Swaziland with his international team-mates for the return fixture but the Pharaohs have now confirmed he will instead head back to Merseyside.

“During the previous match against Swaziland, Salah complained of stress in the musculoskeletal muscle.
“He was examined medically and radiation was performed on the area of complaint after the game.”
Liverpool’s next game is away to Huddersfield on October 20 when the Premier League resumes after the international break.
