Troops encounters Boko Haram in Forfor village in Borno


The Nigerian Army says troops of 117 battalion, 28 Task Force Brigade, Operation Lafiya Dole have killed a suspected Boko Haram terrorist.

The army spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, said the terrorist was gunned down on Tuesday, following their encounter with them at Forfor village in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to Usman, the troops in conjunction with some members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, embarked on the patrol following a report on the presence of suspected Boko Haram terrorists in a hideout.

He added that during the encounter at Forfor Village two of the suspected insurgents were also arrested, while various weapons were recovered from them.

Two soldiers were, however, said to have sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment.
