IGP orders investigation into the shooting of an unarmed man in Edo

The Inspector General of Police, Adamu Muhammad, has ordered an investigation into a video footage trending online which shows the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, gunned down an unarmed man in Benin City, Edo state.

The ugly incident happened on Tuesday, 29th January. It was alleged that the victim suspected to be an armed robber, was fleeing the scene after he was apprehended when he was shot dead by the SARS officials.

Series of tweets on the official handle of the Nigeria Police Force, says IGP is personally interested in the matter and that anyone with useful information should come forward.
