Photos: Couple who had sex on a beach could face up to 15 years in jail

A couple who had sex on a beach in broad daylight will now have to register as sex offenders – and could face up to 15 years in jail.

A video played in court showed the couple appearing to have intercourse on Cortez beach in Florida – and witnesses said that a three-year-old girl may have seen the act.


Jose Caballero, 40, and Elissa Alvarez, 20 were found guilty of lewd and lascivious behaviour.

Because Caballero has previously served eight years in prison for cocaine trafficking, he is likely to serve the full 15 years for the offence, court insiders said.

‘He’s a great person,’ Caballero’s mother said, declining to give her name to the Miami Herald.

‘There are other things out there we need to worry about, and they’re still loose, people who have done worse stuff.’
