Fear No Evil - David Okoye

Fear No Evil - David Okoye
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalms 23:5

The word ‘shadow’ implies a reflected image of someone or something – and when a shadow is seen, it means that the object itself is close by.

So when David used the tenses ‘walk through the valley of the shadow of death’, you can tell he referred to a seemingly deadly situation.

David literally said that even if he perceived death lurking in the corner, he would have no fear because he knew that God was with him. What an assurance of protection and victory. He was confident in the God of his father’s that was with him.

But Glory to God, The new creation is past this point. In our dispensation, we do not just have God with us, but we have God in us. The fullness of the God head dwells in you. With God in you there is no place for fear in your life. It is not the nature you’ve been given.

Your life is hid with Christ in God; therefore you are safe. Refuse to patronize fear and withdrawal in the face of challenges. The greater one is resident in you (1 John 4:4) – so if you fear, know that it was a choice you made.

No matter how fearsome the challenge might be, go through it with the awareness that you are protected, guided and comforted on all sides.
