Photos: Ronaldo morphs into Fergie on touchline has got Man Utd fans talking
Manchester United supporters couldn’t help but see the similarities between Cristiano Ronaldo and Sir Alex Ferguson as the Portugal superstar morphed into his former manager on the touchline at the final of Euro 2016.
Ronaldo was stretchered off the Stade the France turf in the 25th minute and replaced by Ricardo Quaresma which led many to claim the trophy was already France’s.
However, Fernando Santos’ spirited side dug in and took the hosts into extra-time before Eder – yes the same one who couldn’t get a game for Swansea – drilled home a thunderbolt to win the tournament.
It reminded a large section of United fans of Fergie who of course brought the forward to Old Trafford as a fresh-faced 18-year-old back in 2003.
The former Red Devils boss helped shape the career of the man who will go down as one of the greatest footballers to ever play the game.
Here’s how United fans reacted to Ronaldo’s antics in the dugout…
