after a wonderful extra-time effort from substitute Eder earned a 1-0
victory over hosts France.
And there was a lovely moment after Portugal won Euro 2016 as both Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani were congratulated by their former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson on their way down from collecting the trophy.

The look of pride on the 74-year-old’s face summed up what football is all about.
Firstly, the legendary boss hugged Nani who had great tournament in France – many Red Devils fans were even calling for the club to re-sign the winger ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

And arguably the image of the evening at the Stade de France came as Ferguson embraced Ronaldo, the player who he signed as a fresh-faced 18-year-old at Old Trafford back in 2003.
The Portuguese superstar hasn’t done too badly in the 13 years that have passed has he?
