Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 20th SEPT, 2017) - Let the Word profit you

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it Hebrews 4:2

Our opening text shows us that there is a possibility for God's Word not to produce results in a man. It is very possible for the Word of God not to profit a man.

The Word of God is sure; it always works.

Isaiah 55:11 says,
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.

This shows that if for any reason God's Word does not bear result in your life; it is all dependent on you.

So many things have the ability to neutralize the power in the Word. Traditions, unbelief, lack of faith and sin can cripple the effect of God's Word.

The Word did not benefit the Israelites because they did not receive it with faith. Faith is a necessary factor for the Word of God to produce results in your life. Faith is what brings the Word of God to actualization (reality).

Without faith, the potency of God's Word in your life is equivalent to nothing.

For every time you achieve something in life by not applying faith, you were on the losing end. For every time you achieve something as a result of your physical resources, you lost more than you can imagine.

Take a look at Jesus feeding the five thousand. The physical resources (5 loaves and 2 fishes) were obviously not enough. But, His eyes of faith saw far beyond that. Those 5 loaves ended up feeding 5 thousand men (exempting women and children) with a surplus of 12 baskets.

Your faith ought to negate your background and environment. It should contradict the physical. As God's Word comes to you, be sure to mix it with faith. Without faith, God's Word would not profit you.

DECLARATION:
I'm making profit with the Word of God. I receive God's Word with faith; therefore, it is profiting me!

John 15:1-2
