Saturday daily devotional by Pastor David Okoye (Ambassadors Word Diet, 14th April 2018) - Claim Your Inheritance
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son: and if a son, then an heir of God
through Christ. Galatians 4:7
Psalm 24:1 tells,
The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein,
The God-child is an HEIR of God meaning that the earth is his inheritance; the earth belongs to you! That's why when you declare a thing, it stands on the earth.
When In Luke 19:13 we see something very remarkable.
and he called his ten servants, and delivered to them ten pounds, and said unto them, occupy till I come.
To occupy means to possess or use the time or capacity of a thing, or to fill or hold an official position or role signifying a placement for the God-child in this physical world.
When our Lord Jesus proclaimed to His disciples in John 16:33,
…but be of good cheer; I have overcome the worldthe AMP rendering reads,
…but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. I have deprived it of the power to harm you and have conquered for you
He was making a sovereign declaration. An inheritance can be contested for. The devil knows what is yours, but he will still contest for it.
God demands that you lay claim to what belongs to you because if you don't, the devil will prevail. God gave you someone bigger than any being in existence; the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost in the life of a Christian ensures that Christian is empowered to maintain his victory. Lay claim on your ethnos and see the works and bands of the devil destroyed.
DECLARATION
I lay claim to my inheritance today. Through God's Spirit and in the place of prayers, I am destroying and dissolving the works of darkness around me.
SCRIPTURAL REFRENCE
1 Corinthians 10:26, Galatians 4:4-6
