David Beckham is heartbroken his sons have all given up on football

At one point all three of his sons looked as though they’d be following in their father’s sporting footsteps.

But, David Beckham has revealed his lads – Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz – have left him heartbroken after they’ve called full-time on their football careers.

The former Manchester United, AC Milan, PSG and Real Madrid icon’s sons have all been through Arsenal’s training program at some point, but David revealed that none of them even play now – though he’s got hope that his daughter, Harper will keep her faith in the beautiful game.

Asked about the prospect of seeing a Beckham shirt on a football pitch sometime soon, he said:
Harper is playing every Sunday and loves it. The boys don’t play and it’s heartbreaking.
They have a talent but it’s down to Harper now. I get very enthusiastic when watching her.

However, it seems that he’s having to curb his tendencies to be a pushy and protective parent, as he told The Graham Norton Show:
The other day a boy took her down and I had to think how to react with all the other parents watching me. Do I act like a UNICEF Ambassador or do I act like Harper’s daddy? In the end, I let it go!

Harper, six, is the youngest of his children with Victoria, and it seems that she’s the last of his sporting hopes as eldest son Brooklyn is studying photography in New York, and both Romeo and Cruz have pursued more artistic passions themselves.

Having just made a boyhood dream come true by launching his own MLS football team in Miami, it’s been rumoured that the Beckhams may ditch London for the US once more.

David, however, begs to differ.

‘I’ll spend a lot of time there but the kids and Victoria are here,’ he told Graham.
